Will getting your game cleaned at a game store (Gamestop) actually repair the xbox perfect circle scratch?

A while ago i found out that my cousin hit my Xbox 360 when my "Borderlands" was in the disk holder. When I turned it on, it gave my game the perfect circle scratch and when i try to play the game, it says the disk is unreadable. Will getting the game repaired/cleaned make it work or is that just for small scratches? Please let me know from past experiences.....Thanks
