What do you call a guy from Trinidad and Tobago (ex. Canadian is a guy from Canada) a/ in French appreciated?

I need to write about someone in frence for a project I have at school; probelm is, I don't know how to say what his backround is. If a guy is from Germany, or born in Canada and German parents, you would say he has a "German backround". Trinidad and Tabago"ian" backround doesn't sound right. Also, a direct french translation will be greatly appreciated. First one to say it gets the points :)
