Is it government's function to protect freedom so citizens can prosper & profit?

Total and complete deregulation of everything is like asking the fox to gaurd the henhouse. It means stagnant and lowering wages for Americans, whistleblowers getting blackballed, and corporations getting away with, quite literally, anything at all.
