Is it inadvisable to date someone younger while in college?

We're only a year apart age-wise, but he'll be a sopre in the fall and I will be a senior. I feel like the fact that this puts us at very different points in our lives, with potentially very different priorities, could be problematic. Has anyone been in a similar situation? What was your experience? Did it last? Is it worth pursuing at all?
