Do i need a licence to be a dj?

right, i have all the kit to be a dj cuz i brought it of a dj who wanted to move on but i didnt ask him if i needed a licence to do parties and stuff, im 16 and love music i did my own party and would love to do it for other people..i would be doing a few a week hopefully if that makes any difference but i was just wondering if i can just make some leaflets and stuff and go and do it or do i need some kind of licence? if so where do i get it from and where can i find out more info on it? thankyou :)
