Best hair products for brittle/dry hair?

Ive previously been bleaching my hair and now ive gone brown but have a lot of breakage. My hairdresser told me to put a protein treatment in my hair and leave it in overnight but now the breakage is WORSE!! I went and told a local salon and they said that I have overdosed my hair with protein.. is this possible? What will fix my hair? Im sick of buying products only for my hair to get worse, or do nothing at all. Ive heard of a few products including Alfaparf, redkin, k-pak.. are any of these good? I want my hair to feel soft and managable, not dry, brittle and tangled. Please help!!
