How can I meet people that I like? Where can I go?

I'm a 19 year old college freshman and I'm at a college full of really shallow, idiotic, and materialistic people. Most of them have a frat boy/sorority girl mentality and I just can't stand the fakeness of it all. I'm starting to withdraw from college life cause I just really don't like the people here. Especially since my roommate recently moved out a few weeks ago I've just been isolating myself in my room. It kind of sucks being so lonely but I honestly prefer it to being with the type of people that go to this school. I have met a few friends here but they're kind of like me and don't really go out very much and don't have a very large circle of friends. But even with them I don't feel that close to them. Lately the most social thing I've been doing is playing basketball at the gym in pick up games. I don't ever go out on the weekend. I usually end up either doing homework or just surfing the internet and listening to music by myself on friday and saturday nights.
