Is it wrong to ignore someone on a dating site who doesn't fit the type of person you want to date?

I joined an online dating site for the specific reason of meeting a particular type of guy. Now I don't have some laundry list of qualifications, just a few simple ones: worldly, refined, attractive TO ME. Since I know what I want, and I'm there for a specific reason, is it OK if I ignore or don't reply to people who fit those qualities? Also, if they are even a maybe, I sometimes give them a chance by talking to them a while, but usually my first impression is right and I end up not interested.
